Cibele is a Research Scientist at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) and the Analytics Hub Director of the Environmental Data Science Innovation & Impact Lab (ESIIL) and the Earth Lab at the University of Colorado Boulder. Cibele researches how multiple disturbances impact the functioning, stability, and provision of ecosystem services in socio-ecological systems. Cibele is skilled in multimodal remote sensing techniques, artificial intelligence models, and scalable computing, which allow her to transfer information across scales and gain a deep understanding of processes from the individual plant, home, or fire event to the global level. Cibele leads the development of open data and open-source tools to support innovative synthesis research and seamless solutions in ecology and environmental sciences.
