Mia is a PhD student whose research focuses on the intersection of wildfires and social vulnerability. She seeks to understand how wildfires impact communities—particularly those most at risk—and what these dynamics reveal about building a more resilient future.

Mia received her BA from The Ohio State University and her MS from George Washington University. She has always been passionate about understanding how marginalized communities can adapt to and prepare for environmental change. Her work centers questions of equity, justice, and resilience in the face of increasing wildfire threats across the Western U.S.
